5 tips for Wearing a Red Dress.

During this time a year, red dresses start popping out of our closets. If you don't have one in your closet, I am sure you have thought about during the Christmas season. Red is my favorite color to wear in the Winter. It's a classic statement and makes just about any rainy day more beautiful and enjoyable.

Pulling off a red dress isn't always easy, though. There are different shades of reds that look better on certain skin tones. Styles that flatter better than others. The biggest thing is your accessories since red is such a bold color. I have broken this down into 5 easy tips to pull off a red dress this season!

ONE: Choose a tone that flatters your skin. Fair skin tone: bright or an orange red. Medium skin tone: a rich red is best. Dark skin tone: a cool blue red, this is one with a cooler undertone vs. the warmer undertones.

TWO: Choose a style you are confident in. Whether this is an off the shoulder, fit and flare design, pencil skirt, or a mix of them. When you are confident in what you are wearing, it shows. Ask a friend too!

THREE: For a more classic take, opt to either show more leg or more shoulder. One or the other keeps you on the classic side! This dress came almost to my knees which balanced the off the shoulder! FOUR: Don't be afraid to match your lipstick with it! I LOVE a red lip with a red statement piece. This ties in the color for your entire outfit. You can slightly smoke your eyes out for an evening look or keep it super creamy for a more daytime appropriate look.  FIVE: Accessories, keep them simple! I went with a black strappy heel and a fun statement earring. To complete the look, I would wear a black clutch and a black pea coat. This makes your dress be the statement! If you want to wear a bold necklace vs. a bold earring, that totally works as well. One or the other for balance.

I hope this gives you a bit of confidence to pull that red dress or skirt out fo your closet.
If you don't have one and have been wanting to buy one, go now!
