Being casual and cute looks effortless but is intentional. I am going to go through 5 Athleisure pieces and talk about how to style them intentionally for this type of look!
What in the world does Athleisure even mean? Well, simply put, it’s athletic or sporty styled clothing worn casually outside of the gym. I have just started wearing Athleisure and have been loving it! My hubby loves it too since I tend to be overdressed no matter where I am going, having a more casual style is a good balance I needed. He even said, someday when we are blessed with kids I will have the cute mom look down already. I took it as the BEST compliment.
Where do you even start with trying this style out? It is very different than throwing on your leggings and workout tee as you head to the gym. It’s an intentional style.
5 piece Athleisure Outfit
SHOES: Comfort is key on this one. Tennis shoes are the perfect option. I also wear my white converse with these looks. I LOVE these, I got them for Christmas and I can’t stop wearing them. I also have been eyeing these because of the color and the price point.
LEGGINGS: My favorite Athleisure look includes leggings. They are SO comfortable and easy to wear. I have been wearing THESE As well for a different look. I can go from running errands to playing with my niece and nephews with ease because multifunctionality is so important. I also wear these looks with skinny jeans and cuff them at the bottom. As silly as it sounds, it’s a more dressed up version!
SWEATER/SWEATSHIRT: I have worn this ensemble with THIS sweater as well (only $13!). Anything that is comfortable and slightly oversized will work perfectly. PS you need one of these double hooded sweatshirts. I live in both of mine: I have had one for 3 years and it still looks brand new. You can also wear crew neck sweatshirts or baggy t-shirts when the weather gets warmer.
VEST/JACKET: I have worn this look with my green utility vest, green utility jacket, windbreaker, and especially this puffer vest. Anything to add a cute and sporty edge to the outfit!
HAT/HAIRSTYLE: I love to wear hats with my Athleisure looks. A beanie, baseball hat, you name it. This one, in particular, is from…Dollar Tree! It was the perfect blush color, I couldn’t help but buy it with all my candy as I was headed to the movies a few weeks ago. If I don’t wear a hat: I will wear my hair straight, in a messy bun, or a ponytail. This is to be sure your look isn’t too dressed up. I will wear my hair curly when wearing a hat because the hat gives it a more casual look.
Don’t be intimidated by the Athleisure style, be intentional! I am going to be sharing more of these styles since they are a part of my weekly looks!
