One of my top most FAQ’s is what foundation I use! I struggle with adult acne and discoloration from eczema so having a good full coverage foundation routine is crucial! I have been using this duo the past 3 months and it’s been a game changer for my dry blemished skin!
Urban Decay All nighter Foundation | Bare Minerals BarePro Performance Wear | Sigma F80 Brush | Primer: DRUGSTORE- Covergirl Tru Blend Combo SPLURGE- YSL (i have had it over a year and has done wonders for my skin)
Let me preface this post with the fact that I INVEST in my foundation. I have tried drugstore brands and they never work for me for a couple reasons: I have to use more product for full coverage which means I spend more money on my foundation in the long run vs. buying the more expensive one up front, they break me out, they don’t last all day, and the colors tend to not be as natural on my skin. This has been the best full coverage foundation routine I have found!
FIRST | Prime that skin!
My go-to primer is THIS one by YSL. It’s a major splurge. I bought it when it was on a beauty sale. It’s magic guys. Seriously, I have had it for over a year and it makes my skin feel amazing. My foundation goes on perfectly and it only takes about half a pump.
My favorite drugstore primer is the Covergirl Tru Blend Combo! It’s a mix of a lotion and gel texture. A little goes a long way with this one too!
SECOND | Foundation on brush
This is key! I don’t touch the foundation with my fingers or hands because you lose product that way. I put one pump of the Urban Decay foundation on the Sigma F80 brush and about 3/4 of the Bare Minerals foundation on top of that. From learning the hard way, layer them on top of each other because the Bare Minerals is a much more liquidy consistency and absorbs into the brush FAST!
THIRD | Swipe lines on face
I make tiger stripes on my cheeks, forehead, chin, and then my nose. This helps to put the foundation on the areas I need it most (cheeks) and then the remainder of the foundation goes on the lighter coverage areas.
FOURTH | Blend baby blend
I blend out my cheeks first to be sure they are fully covered, then blend out to my ears and jawline. You do NOT want foundation edges where you can tell your natural skin color. Then I gradually blend up my temples to my forehead, down my nose, upper lips, and the chin.
FIFTH | Let sit on skin
The biggest key for full coverage foundation, let it sit on your skin a couple minutes before you try and put anything else on it. I will do my highlighting with my concealer as I let my face makeup settle into my skin. Usually, about 3 minutes is good!
