Pattern Mixing for the Win.

A sure fire way to have an elevated look is to pattern mix. I used to cringe at the thought of not matching, or having two different patterns in an outfit. Now, I am in love! This isne of the easiest ways to achieve a chic look. 

 

Here I have mixed two bold patterns together. The dark and light contrast build interest. I also mixed them while still having a neutral top to create a place for your eye to rest...there is such as a thing as too much pattern mixing and yes I have done it, it's not pretty. 

 

Polka dots are a Kate Spade signature, mixing polka dots with stripes, florals, other sized polka dots, contrasting colored polka dots, and obviously these lemons are the perfect way to inspire your look. This skirt is not Kate Spade, it is Kate inspired with the bold silhouette. I found it for $30 from Groopdealz that currently has them in stock, run over there fast if you want it...it doesn't last long. To finish off the look I, of course, wore my signature red lips. I seriously wear red lips with a t-shirt and shorts. 

 

Accessories are always a great way to inspire your look. Invest in the pieces that are versatile and will last. This top I wear with everything, it's actually a peplum I have tucked into the skirt. I have definitely gotten my money's worth. My Beau bag I wear as my neutral in the spring and summer time and will last me forever because of it's classic timeless design. These look-a-like glitter heels are from the Nine West outlet, I paid $20 for them! They won't last forever since the gold is a trend, spending less on the trends is a great way to stretch your budget.
