Perfect Pout Part Two | Patchology | Lip Scrub DIY

The best DIY lip scrub for the perfect pout.

I talked about my new favorite lip hydration HERE but there are 2 steps I take before that include exfoliation and Patchology Lip Gels!

I love these lip gel masks! I have used them throughout this Winter and they helped so much with the Winter dry lips. The key to maximizing the benefit of these masks is to exfoliate before. This allows the dead skin to be removed and allow the lip mask to fully penetrate your lips.

First I use my Sugar Lip scrub (recipe below!).

Then I place one Patchology Lip Gels on my lips. These are a gel-like texture that is so much fun! I am a huge texture fan so going from the sugar texture to the smooth mask texture is always nice.

Let the Patchology Lip Gels sit on your lips for a total of 5 minutes. I usually will read a magazine or watch a show during this time. For a full pampering night, place the lip mask on while soaking in a hot bath!

Once I remove the lip mask I apply my lip hydration, my favorite is HERE!

If you don’t have a luscious perfect pout after these steps, then give me a call!

2 Tablespoons sugar

1 Tablespoon coconut oil

1 capful of essential oil flavor

I used theBubble Gum but also love the Cotton Candy and Coconut!

Food Coloring optional, I went without this time.

I received this product complimentary from Patchology. All opinions are 100% my own.

Office Inspiration | DIY chic and classic.

Since living back in Oregon, I haven’t had an office to keep me organized, creative, and inspired. I have realized just how important having a space to let myself be inspired is. PS click on any of the items in the image below and it will take you directly to the item!

My office was not only a place I worked from but a place where I was creative, filmed, wrote my blog, and designed outfits. I look forward to the day I have an office again. Until that day that I get to share that space with you, I am sharing the items I have stored away or are sitting on my wish list for my office!

Having a place to call your own, where you are able to relax and work hard, is so important. This can be a small desk in the corner of your living room, a nook in your kitchen, a corner of your guest room, or even a wall in your closet. Find a place where you can find some peace and space from our busy lives. A space of your own is the perfect place to be able to do your devotions and pray as well. I used to have my bible study on my desk in my office. I loved having a place that put me in a mindset of relaxation to be able to focus on the things I needed to focus on.

DIY Pom Pom Sandals

August 13, 2016

Dress: ASOS | Swimsuit: RAD Swim (layered underneath!) | Hat: BP | Handbag: Burlington Coat Factory |
Lips: MAC Candy Yum Yum and Gloss

These pom pom sandals were everywhere this year! I was in love with them, but not the high price tag that came with them. Since I knew they were a trend, I didn’t want to invest in a pair such as these. I decided to make my own. I bought the materials for decorating them from Michael’s! Use coupons from their app. I thought I would share this easy step by step tutorial with you because I am in love with them!

Needle Nose Pliers

Sandals (eBay)

1. First, sew a jump ring onto the pom poms you want to attach to the sandal. I tried to do a more random approach to this, so I grabbed a handful and started sewing. Pull the pom pom fuzz tight so you can make a secure loop with the needle and thread, then continue that until the jump ring is securely fastened to the pom pom. Repeat for all pom poms. TIP: Choose jump ring sizes that are just big enough for the sandal ties so that your decorations stay more in one place to make sure they don’t fall off.

2. Second, sew the tassels onto the ends of the sandals tie strings. This will give them a finished look as well as add flair to the sandal. Then attach the remainder of the tassels onto the sandals: open up their jump rings with pliers, slip the sandals tie in the jump ring, and clamp the ring shut again with the pliers.

3. Next, attach the Medallions the same way you did your tassels in a sporadic placement. I put one down close to my toes and about 3 others spread through the sandal.

4. Next, place all your pom poms on your sandals the same way you did the tassels and medallions. I wore my sandals I placed the pom poms on so that I could see the aesthetic as I went. You don’t have to do this but if you like it to be balanced I suggest this.

5. Wear them EVERYWHERE!

P.S. I just tried this new product and loved it! It has 50 spf to protect you from the sun while also giving you a gradual tan. The look of this product is much more gradual than other self-tanners. I have it on my back to blend in all the colors, I tend to tan more laying on my back! It’s a quick dry oil that is easy to apply and very buildable. Don’t let the color of the bottle scare you!
