Wild Child | Dreamy Presets.

Dress: c/o Cedar + Sage Trading Co.Booties: Vince Camuto |Lips: MAC Faux | Flower Crown: my own DIY

Sometimes I like to try different styles out, staying in the same little box isn’t as exciting as trying new things. I have loved the bohemian look and have been trying to incorporate it into my personal style in a way that still stays true to me. A comfy dress with tassels was just the way to do that.

This dress is from Cedar + Sage Trading Co. Let me tell you how comfortable it is! I wore it to work and I felt like I was in my comfies at home but I looked way cuter. She has been so gracious to offer all you lovelies a coupon code, if you use ‘topknots’ you will save 20% off your first purchase. Cedar + Sage Trading Co. literally has something for everyone.

Now let’s talk about me new secret weapon for photos, Dreamy Presets. I used the Santorini preset package on these photos to transform them into the perfect sunlit look. I used the warm tone level 1 and the vibrance level 1. They made all the difference in how these came out. I loved the before pictures with how naturally the photos looked, once I had the edits on them I was even more in love!

Dreamy presets are a great add on for any photographer that is looking to stay with the editing trends or blogger looking to help boost your photos. One of my favorite details about these presets is the price point. They are $35 a package. The investment you will earn back on this is incredible! If you go HERE on their about section, you can see all the ways that these presets will transform your photos.

I originally wanted to use the Venice preset package, but Dreamy Presets team really encouraged me to use the Santorini preset package. Let me tell you, they know what they are talking about. They came out perfectly!

Here is a before and after example so you can see how much they transformed.

3 Years of Blessings!

Dress: BB Dakota | Handbag: LumillaMingus | Heels: Valentino | Earrings: similar HERE
Bracelet: Nadri | Lips: MAC Snob

I have sat down to write this post about 10 times now. When I sit and reflect on the last 3 years I get overwhelmed emotionally. The last three years have changed me so much. In the last year, I have poured my heart and my soul into this blog, I have cherished all the milestones and memories made along the way. Though some are still more difficult to triumph through, I see them strengthening me and giving me direction.

When I began to write my blog in 2013, I had no idea it would turn into my passion. In 2014 I started to dabble into style posts every couple weeks. It wasn’t until last September that I went full steam ahead. This last year has encompassed a year of trials, tears, and triumphs. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for traveling along side of me for these years. Whether you have been following along since the beginning or you just started to join this adventure, thank you.
Topknots and Pearls has given me an outlet for my passion but also a platform to be a voice of change. I  cherish every comment, text, like, and view from you lovelies! It sincerely means the world to me. My goal is to be able to help encourage and inspire beautiful women, if I can do just that for one woman, then it is all worth it. Sharing yourself can be intimidating, you ladies have made it a beautiful experience.

In celebration of 3 years of blogging, I decided to do an overhaul of my website. Did you notice the changes?? I am in love with this setup and am so excited for the ways that it will help inspire and encourage all of you! Take a look around: there are different places for shopping my closet, getting to know me, finding all my beauty tools and products I use on a daily basis, tutorials to learn how I do what I do, and so much more. There is also a tab called, Liketoknow.it. This is where you can shop the looks I post on Instagram without having to sign up for Liketoknow.it. If you want to sign up, it’s free and super easy. You can sign up HERE, when you like a photo on my instagram (you can follow along HERE) you will get all the details in your email inbox!
I will be sending out a special newsletter (you can sign up on the sidebar!). This newsletter will give you first access when something fun is going on, tutorials, and updates. I will also be starting to post Outfit Of The Day posts on Instagram, I want to give you gals a better feel of me on an everyday basis.

In the next two weeks, I will be announcing a big project I have been working on! I am so excited about it. It is for each and every one of you that has a closet full of clothes and never feels like you have anything to wear…yes, I am pretty sure that is all of you! Including me! Stay tuned. Oh also, it won’t cost you a penny 😉

Thank you for all your love and support of Topknots and Pearls. I am sending out hugs and kisses on the cheek to each of you! Cheers to see where this year takes us!

5 tips on dressing for Summer when it’s not sunny.

August 21, 2016

Chambray: BP | Blouse: Topshop | Jeans: Paige ($40 TJ Maxx!) | Booties: BP | Hat: Nordstrom
Ring: Kendra Scott | Necklace: Baublebar | Watch: Tory Burch (Anniversary Gift!!) | Lips: MAC Snob

This Oregon girl forgot what Summer weather can be during June and July. Trying to dress like “Summer” with “Fall” conditions had me scratching my head. The last two months I have been religiously following these 5 tips, I hope they help you during the rainy parts of Summer.

Dress in Summer Colors: If the weather doesn’t allow you to wear your Summer cuts, such as tank tops and shorts, wear the colors for Summer. For me, that is lots of white with accents.

Light Layers: To keep you warm when the temperature drops (not significant;y to the point you need thick coats lol), wear a light jacket or blouse like this chambray. This will give you the feeling it’s still Summer without the heat.

Light Neutrals: Summer is the perfect time for cognac brown and tans. Fall and Winter are for black shades (well, mostly, I wear black year round!) and dark browns. I will wear an entire outfit of White with pops of tan and cognac for a fresh look when the weather is dreary.

Booties: These shoes will accent all your Summer dresses perfectly but give you the comfort you need when it’s a bit chillier and possibly raining outside.

Colorful Lips: I love a good bold lip, especially in the Summer. When the weather isn’t cooperating, I will brighten my look for the day with a nice pink lipstick. I am wearing this one but also love this one!

This will be my last blog post for about 2 weeks. I am disabling my blog on Wednesday to start working on a big change for Topknots and Pearls! The change will happen on September 4th, this is the 3 year anniversary for Topknots and Pearls. I am unbelievably excited for this! Until then, stay connected on Facebook HERE and Instagram HERE! I will be sharing sneak peaks and outfit of the days there!
